'You forget the state Celtic were in before Ange' | Rewatching the early Postecoglou videos

Hamish has a bit of fun by watching three videos from last summer - around the time Ange Postecoglou first came into our lives.

What did the guys think at the time? And what does Hamish think now, rewatching the clips?

Just watch Allan Brazil and Ally McCoist gigling and laughing on Talksport like a couple of wee lassies when the announcement was made that Ange Postecoglou was the new Celtic Manager....I bet they're not laughing now.

This is actually a really good video. Fair play to you for going back and revisiting your initial assumptions. Not many people can or will do that. Go Hamish.

I'm an Aussie Celtic fan. When Ange was appointed I monitored the reaction across Celtic media, this channel stood out as the most supportive and open to Ange's from the get go. It's funny seeing Hamish take the piss out of himself, but he was always open to Ange and did a great job researching and reaching out to Australian journalists and Football followers from the start. The attitude of some fans really shocked me, knowing that Ange was a great manager, from a working class background who grew playing for an immigrant community club, yet they were shitting on him and pining for Eddie fucking Howe.

Guys once I watched the mic'd up video at Lennoxtown I was won over, there was just something about that video that showed he has something about him. And fair play to the Aussies who told us form day one! they even predicted the sticky start.

Let's be honest we as a support were all sceptical when Ange was first appointed but considering he came on his own without any back ground team what a job he has done. I personally thought it would take a couple of season's to get it right but he has blown me away and can only see it getting better under Ange.

I wonder if it was Brendan Rogers who recommended Ange. They first met when Rogers brought Liverpool to Melbourne in 2013 to play Ange’s team, Melbourne Victory in front of 95, 000 fans at the MCG, a red sea of Liverpool supporters. With Gerrard, Suarez, etc., Liverpool won 2-0.
Rogers praised the style of Melbourne Victory.
It is also said that the fans gave the best version of YNWA ever. Check it out on YouTube.

As an Aussie, I had no doubt whatsoever that Ange would succeed. None. I thought in his seond seaaon you'd start to see his impact. He's done it in season one. Remarkable.

To add. Proof football fans don’t know everything. But you arguably are one of the only people I know who didn’t simply read, assess, and regurgitate others written stories. You actually got people on the channel with experience, who put their face on the screen and did ACTUAL JOURNALISM. By the way? I was typing this RIGHT BEFORE you were saying how other media outlets did ZERO investigation (was listening and typing lol). This is why you’ve become my favorite Celtic Journalist.

Don’t be so hard on yourself! You had no idea about Ange; nor did any so called journalists in Europe. What I admired about you and your channel is that you kept an open mind and, above all, did your research. You always get on knowledgeable guests. As a relatively new sub I’m really enjoying the channel and how Ange is progressing at Celtic. In the process I’ve become a Celtic fan. Keep up the great work.

If we win nothing else, we’ve won Ange and he’s won with us. I’d stick by him for the foreseeable seasons.

As a Australian Newcastle fan (Geordie family background), I think you’ve ended up on the right side of the ledger. Like most Aussies, I never had any doubts about Ange succeeding at Celtic, it was only a matter of when IMO. Howe is still going to be a fine manager I feel and I’m more than happy having him at Newcastle but Ange is the perfect fit for Celtic right now. Since he’s moved there, I’ve watched every televised Celtic game this season and loved every minute of it. Outstanding support, I’ve always firmly believed you can’t support more than one club, but geez after the derby I was hooked, had Roll With It stuck in my head for a week. Hopefully there’s more in store for Ange and the bhoys this season.

One of the most amazing sliding doors moments in Celtic history. Think about the state of your club if Eddie Howe took on the job. Ange has turned your club from an absolute shambles into a potential treble winning club in one season, in two transfer windows. He has bought players for peanuts who are world class in some positions and raised the value of the club enormously. Some job considering.

He has delivered on EVERY PROMISE he made when he came to Celtic. He is no yes man, he deals with the media like a professional and he has basically done it on his own with no back room staff. Its unheard of in the modern game.

I am steaming, and I was steaming most of the off season with how much our club was in shambles. However this is a great video looking back on how everyone was when big Ange was first mentioned. I’ve followed you guys since February 2020 when the quadruple treble was first mentioned, this is the best content I’ve seen this channel produce over the passed 2 months, keep it up lads! HH 🍀🍀

I’m an Aussie who loves watching my fellow countrymen do well in sport. When I lived in Brisbane I remember the excitement and thrill of going to Suncorp stadium to watch Brisbane Roar dominate other teams since Ange took the helm. I can only imagine what it would be like in Glasgow and the pathetic comments from Ally & Allen make the Celtic transition and dominance all the more sweater. Bring on a treble in 2022.

Priceless reaction of Ryan. You all looked liked you'd dropped wallets, with that being the last bit of cash at your disposal. That's

Hamish these are classic moments you won’t forget and at the time all you had was the word of every Ange fan and witness of his success, I was nervy at the start when you weren’t winning because I thought the patience of the board and fans would wear thin and you’d sack Ange, but you kept the faith and the results are only just starting to come, I love the Celtic fans and their love for Ange, I can’t believe how quickly it’s happened, and don’t worry about Ange he will stay at least 3 seasons, he has so many reasons to stay and no reason to leave.
