Dr. Bernstein is himself a T1D. And he just turned 84. I follow his protocol. Average glucose is 84.8 with a standard deviation of 13.8. My A1C is 4.9%. I eat less than 20 grams of carbs per day. There is no other way in my opinion. Compliance is probably a huge issue, but for those who are willing to make the sacrifice, it is possible to have normal blood sugar as a T1D.

Keto/VLC Dr Ken Berry and Dr Bernstein changed and saved my life!!! On the horrible roller coaster for too many years! Chased everything from vegan, raw vegan, vegetarian, high carb low fat... all with absolutely no success!!! Then I found low carb and my life changed!

Yes, let's get low carb mainstream for people with type 1 as well as type 2. Think how much suffering could be relieved.

You nailed it Dr. Kushner, thank you for all you do. Does anybody know a foundation or clinic doing research on LCFF and Type 1 Diabetes where one can donate and help do more research?
