I like the open position because it gives a very resonating sound but I am also very very interested in the closed position arrangements because it gives a lot of freedom. I think I will use both the approaches based on the song.

Also Neil, I am trying really hard to learn solfege but I am still not able to recognise the scale degrees by listening to the song. I usually figure out the melodies by identifying the frequency gaps between two notes right now.

I practice singing the scale but I am not able to remember the sound after some time.

Can you help me with some advice on it ?
