For those saying, this question can be solved even by a 6th/7th standard student & by logic only, & that if you go away from earth gravity will decrease so the answer is 1km above, I am sorry to say this but you have no idea what you are talking about..

Actually gravity decreases both ways,

1) if you go away from the surface of earth - due to increase in distance. Mass being constant here gravity is proportional inversely to square of distance between the centre of earth & the body
2) towards the centre of earth - due to decrease in effective mass, as mass decreases to the proportion of cube of radius. So, cube of r / square of r, gravity in this case becomes directly proportional to the distance of the body from the centre of the earth.

The formula we said is applicable for very small distances compared to the earth’s radius.. Which is exactly the case here .. 1 <<<< 6400 km
