Dutch contestant Joost Klein expelled from Eurovision Song Contest | AP explains

Wow. The official statement is out. Apparently a Swedish camerawoman kept filming him, after repeated requests to stop it. He then “made a threatening gesture towards the camera.” Nobody was touched, just a threatening motion after being harassed. Apparently that gets you disqualified.

Joost Klein ends his song on a very emotional note. A message to his parents who passed away. He goes so deep into this emotion that he want some peace and quite after his song. He's let the EBU know of his wishes to not be filmed, photographed or questioned after his performance. After his performance in the semifinal there was however a Swedish camerawoman, who kept stalking and harassing Joost after being told multiple times to stop filming. Joost then made a threatening sign towards the camera. There was no physical altercation. The camerawoman then reported Joost to the police and the EBU has now disqualified him. This is according to the official dutch broadcasting network 'AVROTROS'.
Mind you that till this very moment Joost has officially done nothing wrong. The investigation is ongoing. The EBU could've arranged a judge to look over this case but hasn't done so. If Joost Klein is found 'Not guilty' both Joost Klein and AVROTROS should definitely sue EBU and that awful Swedish camerawoman.

THE STATEMENT IS THAT A SWEDISH WOMAN KEEPT FILMING HIM AND THEN HE MADE SOME THREATENING TOWARDS THE CAMERA, HE TOUCHED NOBODY AND HARMED NOBODY.


JOOST MADE CLEAR THAT HE DIDNT WANT TO BE FILMED AFTERWARDS. AND THEY MADE RULES BECAUSE OF THAT WAY BEFORE IT STARTED.

It seems Joost made an aggressive movement/gesture towards a camera operated by said woman. This happened during his walk from the stage to the green room after his Thursday night performance.

What about treating the well-being of the artist seriously. He demanded to not be filmed in certain moments, no one wants to be filmed every second. Is the broadcaster more important than the artist?

This 'incident' involved the Dutch contestant making a "threatening" movement to a camera held by a woman - who he didn't touch btw who was harassing him after repeated and clear agreements - set in advance - of not wanting to be filmed on that occasion. Dutch are sueing the ebu. This is ridiculous. Ebu broke agreements and is punishing Joost for it.
