Hello friends,

I’ve read all the comments on this video, and I want to thank you for sharing your thoughts. As a creator, your feedback and engagement are the primary ways I find how well a video resonates with you. It seems that in this case, I may not have delivered my best.

Let me explain why I made this video. If you’re a regular viewer of this channel, you know how much reading books has impacted my life. Because, Whenever I apply the principles from a good book to real-life situations, I often see positive results.

One book that had the most impact on me is *Diary of a CEO*. There’s a chapter titled “Law 23: Don’t be an Ostrich.” Let me explain

Did you know that the captain of the Titanic famously said, "God himself could not sink this ship, " when the crew warned about the dangers of ice in the area. And We all know what happened hours later—disaster.

Steven Bartlett, the author, explains it well: “When an ostrich senses danger, it buries its head. The idea is that if the ostrich can just hide from the threat, the danger will eventually pass. We humans are no different.”

The conclusion of this chapter is that in any aspect of life—whether career, business, or relationships—the person with the fewest blind spots has the more chances of winning. This realization inspired me to create this video. I asked myself, "What blind spots should an MTech aspirant be aware of to make their experience the best it can be?"

So I then asked to MTech freshers and graduates at IIT. Based on their opinions, I made this video.

I genuinely appreciate the comments and requesting you to point out any inaccuracies, and I will make sure the corrective information delivered to you all.

Thank you!

Finally, understanding the challenges or downsides of pursuing an MTech at IIT doesn’t reduce its value. To truly understand its, we need to consider a broader perspective. There’s a reason why IITs and IISc are the top institutions in the country. And genuinelly I’ve already discussed this extensively in my previous MTech review video. That’s why in order to avoid being repetitive I’ve told you to check out that video.

Jai Hind!

Thanks for your comments it helps me better at making good videos for you all. Thank You!

First of all, you are an MS student, not an MTech student, yet you're using clickbait thumbnails to attract paid promotions for GATE courses. Your pointless clickbait videos add no value to viewers. As someone who has graduated from such a prestigious institute, we expect better from you. Do you really think people looking to pursue a Master's degree won't know the difference between CTC and in-hand salary? Overall, you've shared nothing useful or new in this video.

PLS READ THIS COMMENT GOT FROM ONE OF HIS VEDIO ITSELF, IT WILL GIVE U WHAT HE MISSED IN IIT
*its not my comment, i think it will help all a lot * just copied for all your information

MS AND MTECH

All my view in this comment is limited to CSE and EE Dept only.

- I agree with Rahuram, the placement this year has seen a dip, but the situation was not catastrophic all the students GPA>7 got placed. Only the range of opportunities was low. Students had less variety to choose from.
- MS and MTech course in IITs are not same kind of programs. This video is misleading in this part. The programs are designed and operated in a very different manner in IITs. If I am not wrong Rahuram is a MS student and not MTech
- Regarding MS:
MS is a short-term research program (3 years *varies*); in this you will spend less time in course work and more time doing research. MS is like a mini-PhD, an individual can validate if his/her personality is oriented towards research by doing this program. Many IITs (at least IIT D) allows students to convert their MS degree to PhD in mid-way.

Since this is a research-oriented course you will spend more time in a lab under a professor (guide), your graduation depends on your guide. You have to satisfy your guides requirement to graduate.

Naturally student who complete this course, have an edge in joining a R&D role (real R&D not just by name) that are niche. In my department MS students get R&D jobs or go for a good PhD program in India and abroad (Top ones). Most of them are not interested in conventional placements.

- Regarding MTech:
MTech is like a short BTech. It is a 2-year long program (4 Sem). A student has to do course work (typically 6 courses) and a MTech project (1 Year long). This program is designed for BTech students to learn some advance course and perform a rigorous project and prepare them for the industry jobs.

Doing research in MTech is difficult, a student will not get enough time considering the heavy course work. This will be a good suite for student who want to job IITs for just the conventional placements.

- Conclusion:
Please do not take one program just you did not get another program. This might lead to complications. If your personal goals are not aligned with the program, it will cause unnecessary friction, and make a student's master experience bad.

Enter a master's program with a clear exit plan. Take your time in analysis before joining a maters program. The program should match your goal.

During a bachelor's program you will find many students with you aligned mindset and goals. In a maters program that is not the case, each student has his/her own background story (with/without work experience, from another department etc.) and has his/her own goals (govt job/ PhD/ Private company/ Family business), so if your goal is not clear it will create confusions.

Happy for feedback.

1. Can I do Internship after 1 semester?
In IIT Delhi CSE you are not allowed to do internship in summer breaks. People choose a professor that they will work there MTech project with and start working on the project from the summer break. During semester students don't get good time to concentrate on the project, so summer is the best time for projects and interview prep (reviewing courses, DSA etc.). I would strongly suggest not to do an internship during MTech, profs in IIT give far more real world and challenging task than an industry internship.
2. Earning angle and Job prospects for MTechs?
Very subjective question. Even for two different MTech students the meaning "GOOD COMPANY" will differ, for one student FAANG would be the dream, for some other NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Intel, AMD could be the dream. So, preparations change accordingly. Hardcore preparation for placements can be done after joining MTech. So mentally prepare which companies that you wish to work with (interest should be given more weightage than money in my opinion)

A BTech IIT Delhi will prefer joining a Quants role (quantitative finance), in my opinion it is not engineering, but they prefer it pays butt loads of money (1Cr+ packages in IN). Quants firm have very strict entry policy, like JEE Advance Ranks less than 500. So even 90% of the BTech IIT student cannot apply for these rolls.

A good hardcore engineering job in CSE can offer you 40-50 L in India (Like Qualcomm offered this year), In my opinion this is what a MTech should aim for (Realistic and sustainable goal). There are many offers this year from Japan and Taiwan based companies. The Indian offers are more lucrative for my as they pay more in PPP conversion.

1. What skill should I develop?
The truth is that this is a never-ending question. Even a 5-year experienced engineer will sometime feel he/she is not good in market standards.

We can't take too much in the platter, you can first concentrate on cracking the GATE part (I did not give GATE, I did my BTech from IIT and gave a written test and interview for admission). All have limited time and energy, so if you feel you have time for other thing after GATE prep and then it, don't force yourself.

Regarding course:
Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Computer Network, DSA, Theory of Computation, Discrete Math, Linear Algebra Probability will always help you in every level (gate/interview/job). Deep understanding in these topics might take time, people revisit these topics even after joining MTech.

Regarding hands on skills:
1) Typing (40 words per minute 97% accuracy)
2) Linux Usage, learn working in Linux environment, in terminal mode (don't see 2hr+ video on Linux for this, learn through work) learn using tools like GIT, VIM. Compile in terminal, debug in terminal.
3) Pick one language (C/C++/Java/etc.) write at least few thousand lines of code. For impress a girl, the reason can for anything but few thousand line that is the matter.

```
All this will take time 1-year GATE, 2-year MTech (3 yrs. is a good time). Give time don't force.
```

Believe me, in MTech you will do many projects, course work and Teaching Activates (for BTech) where you can cover all the above said things. If you get time, you would like to take a good sleep. So don't worry too much the system will crack you to get the best out of you.

All the best for your GATE prep.
