160m 1/4 wave inverted L

My inverted L wire broke a few weeks back in a storm with high winds. I've also had issues with the stake holding the feedpoint pulling out of the ground so I have installed a pipe with 40 lbs of concrete. Both trees have stainless steel pulleys so the counterweight will move more easily when the trees move.

I used my nanovna and put the data into simsmith to determine my inductor and capacitor values then spread the inductor to fine tune it. It is resonant at about 1.840 giving me both CW and the bottom of SSB before the amp starts to get unhappy. There are about 40 radials of various lengths that lay on the ground and will get pulled up in the spring when it's time to mow. As you can see I have some landscaping work to do in the spring as well.

160s are always a challenge. I am trying to figure one out myself. WD9O.

I’m looking at building the same antenna. Have you experimented with less radials? Just wondering the noticeable difference. 73 w4zxt

Also meant to ask how long your radials are. Tnx

Could you use an air variable capacitor?
