I’m so glad someone pointed out you have ADHD. So many of the things you have tried, your thinking outside the square, working for yourself, taking risks…… and the way you speak/move/bounce around I knew it from the 1st video I watched. As an ADHD mom of 3 ADHD kids, you will have the gift of hyper focus for the things you are passionate about. You will be able to research everything you are interested in to extreme levels. And yes, you will go for something that captures your imagination only to find you hate it or just can’t do it, but you will always learn from it. It is full of really good things plus the “never quite fitting into the box prescribed for you by society” can be one of the hard things. Most I know don’t go to college, but if they stay out of trouble they are inventive enough to become entrepreneurs and make more money than if they had gone to college. For inspiration look at famous people who have it -Richard Branson is one. Winston Churchill had it.

Why would people feel like they need to point out 'flaws'?? And I put 'flaws' in quote marks because they are not good or bad, just how your brain works - like being funny or shy or empathetic

As an almost 50 year old, growing up in a time when ADD was almost unheard of, itt was tough being a very intelligent “bad” kid 😂. Learning how to capitalize on it is the key. I still struggle but having a very organized awesome wife who has permission to “steer” me has helped tremendously. Also the old fashioned linear trajectory of life is less socially enforced. Thanks for making these videos 💪💪💪

After investing in putting my authentic-self in the driver seat, this is what I discovered: 1. Check my patterns. Habits that are unhealthy (effecting my life negatively) are simply patterns. The ego loves when you invest in patterns. It knows I survived yesterday so it wants me to do it again today. It doesn't know what is healthy or unhealthy, it only knows patterns. Thankfully my authentic-self is stronger than a pattern. I invest in breaking them and create healthier patterns by investing in something different. Oh sure the thoughts moaned, groaned and bitched the first time, but I knew those very thoughts are the ones that got me into the predicament, and wouldn't get me out no matter how much I begged, pleaded, and cried. Thankfully I invested wisely and my authentic-self stepped up. The trick, I found is to be consistent, no matter what, and 100% committed and invested to the new pattern (this stops decision fatigue, excuses and justifications- the crazy thoughts driving patterns). 2. Invest in listening. It's amazing what I learn by listening and paying attention to others. 3. Invest in curiosity. It's amazing how much I have grown by being curious and have gained many more interests. Plus getting a different perspective about a multitude of subjects not only keeps me open-minded, but broadens my knowledge. 4. Invest in becoming aware when I am in my head (thoughts galore). Knowing how sneaky and manipulative the thoughts in my head are, throughout the day I will announce, "thinking, " or "listening" or "wanting" or "complaining" or "judging" doing this is like turning on the light and catching a kids hand in the cookie jar. This causes whatever is going on within to cease. This also lets the thoughts (ego) know my authentic-self is witnessing and paying attention while not taking the bait. However when I get triggered/upset I will invest and sit with whatever is going on within. I get still and present and search my body for sensations. I will usually find and feel a tightness or squeezing, which I "allow" until it dissipates on its own. In order for me to heal unprocessed emotions from the past I have to feel them now. So, I allow anger and sadness to be felt without investing my energy. I just allow it to run its course. Immediately, after doing this I no longer feel the intensity of what just happened. Eventually I no longer get triggered about the same scenario, and for the most part it never happens again, or maybe it's because I don't notice it anymore. Not sure. 5. I've known since I was little that I am here to enjoy this experience and that I can trust Life. Knowing this taught me that any struggle is the ego resisting reality. Ego loves theatrics and it distorts and complicates everything when it is in control. To stop it, I either dissect the thoughts to find the truth, (Byron Katie The Work is an excellent investment *Free*) or I remove the emotions by looking at the facts of the situation only. Once the mind knows the truth it can't unknow it. 6. Acceptance is the ultimate place I want to invest in. Many times when I surrender to the truth, knowing it is really happening and there is nothing I can do about it, will lead me to acceptance. Once I accept it I instantly know how to move forward. Acceptance and truth/reality is where peace resides. There is safety in acceptance and truth. With the egos dramatics there is no safety to invest in. 7. I am invested and get excited about uncertainty. I look forward to not knowing but staying open to whatever the day may bring. If it appears unwanted I search until I can see the benefit or if I don't know what the benefit is I'll still agree with Life. The alternative is to invest my energy in the melodramatics of the ego which will only bring suffering on top of whatever is going on. No thanks. 8. Doing the right thing for me, takes an investment in courage. Not caring what others think of me, takes an investment in courage. Letting go of perfectionism and control, takes an investment in courage. The courage to be who I was intended to be. Living with the authentic-self in control allows me all the courage I need 9. Expectations will disappoint every time, it's a bad investment. Failing, however is a great investment to learn and grow. 10. Another bad investment is taking things personal. I invest in knowing it isn't about me. Thank you for your ten!

I can get discouraged easily and it can take me out for a few days until I either figure out what is the matter or change things up to stay encouraged.
