FEBRUARY COMP - A Message To Humanity

As an artist and observer of the human condition, I cannot detach myself from the trials and tribulations of life. Today, the constant threats to our existence as a species, the mindless suffering, the animosity and oppression, the dehumanizing rhetoric, and the hate speech... all that has driven humanity to the edge of despair! This unfortunate albeit alarming reality has compelled me to think about the significance of words in today’s tumultuous world. I believe that words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble. So, in order for art to be a reflection of life, I had to be deeply conscious of the focal idea I wanted to communicate with this promo. It is an ode to awakening… it is a message of hope and a call for unity and solidarity amongst us humans… because the only way forward is for us to find what best fosters the elevation of our humanity in this contemporary life, and dedicate ourselves to that.
