Small correction: mythic variants like this one are not available for 40 mythic essence. They're exclusively available from event capsules, with a guaranteed pull (yes, it's pure gacha) after spending the equivalent of $200. HOWEVER, the mythic variants of God King Garen and Darius are coming together, so the guaranteed pull is for either one of them, which means you only have a 50% chance to get the skin you want, effectively bumping the potential cost up to $400.

I am quite devastated by this. Garen is my favorite champion, I have been playing him for 7 years, I have all his skins and chromas, God King is my favorite skin of his and I love this glorified chroma and I would love to buy it...but I just don't have the money...we have to see What happens from here to when it goes on sale two weeks from now, but I'm 90% sure that I'm going to miss it and that really depresses me... we won't be able to say that we have all Garen skins anymore...

I’d rather have commando, vice, or steel legion tbh, too much flashiness to these skins, kinda loses the essence of garen and turns him into some type of fantasy anime character. Not my cup of tea personally, I would’ve preferred a pool party skin or some type of fun/meme skin instead of this $200 replica of god king Darius. Is basically just the god king skins but the colours are flipped with a few minor additions and boom it goes from 1900rp to 200$? Call me dumb but I don’t get it tbh

The price point upsets me so damn much. i have had a full Garen cosmetic collection since season 2 and now i'll probably never have it finished after this comes out. Also you have to buy it right now because its IS limited time and once it is gone it is gone forever.

But if it's 40 Mythic Essence (6:09). How is that $200?? If you buy an Event pass ONCE for 1650 RP you can grab 125 Essence. Then you have your 40 and a bunch left. That's like.. <$20?

I feel like they will not stop this business model at all, unfortunately. With the Jhin skin, Ahri skin and now this. Even if 0.1% of players buy it, Riot will end up making such a disgusting amount of money from it :(

What upsets me the most is that it was announced as a mythic chroma -> was looking forward to the next mythic chroma shop but then they changed the title to "mythic variant" and of course they had to put a 200$ pricetag on it.

I mean... personally, I don't think it's worth the money. I love Garen, but that price tag is crazy. Most people can't just blow that much on a skin like it was nothing. I'll stick with my free mecha kingdoms Garen skin I got in a chest!

200 dollar skin and same animation as god king garen jusr different coloring, 100% not worth it, imo this skin isnt unique at all just a quick money grab, and even just first god king garen is better than this one

I like the skin but yeah, $200 is too much. As bad as my FOMO for limited time events is, such a heavy price tag is a detractor from even entertaining the idea of making a purchase. I've also started equating the price tag with what I would have purchased. Even as someone who doesn't eat out, that's like four fancy restaurant meals and I'd be much happier.

To be honest, it's pretty ugly. Even the Splash doesn't feel legendary like the original God King splashes for Garen and Darius. The colors are not it either, and if they did switch themes (which i'm guess what they are going for), why not White and blue for Darius? Overall, it's just lazy cash grab

I will buy it, it's worth the money, BUT i would become OTP Garen (230k atm) and never buy other skin for 200 dollars again.
