Lol, im almost 50. Was an alcoholic maniac for decades.
The wim hof method gave me a new life. Now I can run 10 miles, do 100 push ups and 20 pull ups.

That's not the reason people practice the wim hoff method. The benefits of the wim hoff method far outweighs the ability to hold your breath for most people

to save everyone the time....The basic gist is that practicing hyperventilation can lead to passing out when holding your breath afterwards. Obviously passing out in water isn't ideal. To train breath holds, you want to condition yourself to CO2 levels instead of removing the CO2 via hyperventilation.

I'm confused, you just said that I could hold my breath longer and longer, but if I want to learn how to hold my breath I should go to your channel. Wimhoff isn't working anymore. I can hold my breath for 5mins, it's pretty scary. Now I'm really scared after watching this

I find the whole breath hold thing very soothing. I enjoy the the whole pattern. It gives me a huge sense of clam and a feeling that i can get through my day in a peaceful way. Im not sure why people are hating on you for doing your own thing though.

Technically it is hyper(excessive) ventilating(breathing) but, it is a very controlled form of hyperventilating and it prepares for the next step which is hypoventilation. The whole goal of the method is training your body by inducing stress, it's like training your muscles which you do by "stressing" them and this is no different, its just internal.

These excercises are of such short duration, its not comparable to what people think you mean when you say hyperventilation. People assume that it means UNcontrolled excessive breathing and yes, that is dangerous since the body thinks oh man i gotta breath i need to get those c02 levels up, thats also why they get you to breath in a plastic bag for example since you will breathe in the c02 that you just let out causing the c02 levels to rise which stops the hyperventilation usually

don't like. Ride coattails if you like, it's on me to avoid people who do that if I have a problem with it, but, man, talk about the thing you said you were gonna talk about. It's no surprise, the reason is bc drowning is less than ideal. But at least your short was short, that's appreciated
