Can people play chess in space? Well, yes! Recently, an out of the world game was played between the International Space Station (ISS) and Mission Control. NASA shared the game and the moves played on their social media accounts along with some interesting pictures. ISS started with the black pieces yet they turn out victorious in the game. pretty strange question, because we already know that one of the options is a losing blunder.

I can see how the ISS crew may not play chess very well, having only a limited pool to draw from, but there's no excuse for the mission control people to play so badly.

Of course, this will not be a world class game, because chess is a hard field of study, as is any of the jobs in the space program, and one person cannot do both.
