Assassin's Creed Beyond Booster Box Opening - I Have a lot of Thoughts...

Today we're going to open an Assassin's Creed Beyond Booster box.

I waited a while to open any Assassin's Creed products but admittedly at $95 for a Beyond Booster box, I think there may be some solid value to be found. The actual experience of opening one these on the other hand... To each their own.

Agree with most of your observations Wildcat. It is a fun set but the duplication is real and disappointing to get so many cards you already have yet not get some others. It happens in every set but feels worse in smaller sets like this.

I like the (touch) feel of the cards from this set. Also, I feel that weirdly this set has a lot of good cards for Skullbriar (Cleopatra, Restart Sequence, Viewpoint Synchronization etc)

I am still working on my Ezio deck; I am doing equipment/unblockable but it has been tricky to make it feel satisfying. I want to include some equipment tutors but I feel like black makes it so I include Vampriric/Demonic and then it just turns into "search whatever makes me win rn"

Honestly, I really liked this set. Modern legality was a weird choice, but other than that? Some neat reprint, some neat new cards (primarily for commander tbh) and as easily skippable as a set could possibly be. I like this style of UB sets. Buy if you care, dont buy if you don't.

This set was a hard pass for me. The art and card treatments were boring and the IP does nothing for me. I'm not a fan of Universes Beyond in general. I think magic has enough of it's own story, that it doesn't need to include other IPs.

I got one collector box and that was it. I got the hits i wanted so i was done with the set lol.

I feel like this set was heavily rushed unfortunately. I'd really like to see the Universes Beyond done in a consistant way between sets, so you get your commander decks, collector boosters and play boosters. I'd have loved some of the Warhammer cards, Fallout cards, hell, even the Dr Who cards, but no play boosters rules it out for

I see your rant and I raise you by two rants 😂: First: I know that the design team/IP relations managers probably couldn't do this but here's a change I'd request from this and all other larger UB products: if you can't give a character an apposative "creature name, description" then they shouldn't be a legendary creature. Use the art, put their name in the flavor text, but seriously it's okay to do this when the character is not a primary role (**coughs Ash from Evil Dead coughs**).
Second: for this set specifically, and this is just a day dream, but what if they had done the historical characters like Leo in a style similar to the Arabian Nights/Legends? Folks would have gone absolutely NUTS.

The Borderless enemy Horizons were an unexpected surprise when I saw them, I’ve been picking them up to replace Pain Lands, I eventually plan to pickup the foil etches of the Commander playables like Reconnaissance, Propaganda, etc.
