I think the reason for the polite applause may be that no one in the audience can remember the show!

The kettle drums make all the difference, something that snares and toms cannot do. Nice performance, a little faster pace though than normal. Conductor needs to understand that this song has a groove, especially the drum pattern.

I love it but feel so sorry for the members of the orchestra. Most of today's conductors slow it down a beat and it is noticeable. I get it, but this is not how it should be played. This group must be panting after this. Great job to everyone involved.
