A new series! In this video, I walk through the top tips I consider when creating realistic looking parks and the reasons for this. The first Lesson is PARK LAYOUT. find out how to lay out your park, what is needed in your park, how to decorate it and where to place everything to create a realistic planet coaster park. Following these tips will put you onto the right path to add some more realism to the parks you build!

This guide works for Planet Coaster 1 and Planet Coaster 2.

The series is split into 2 difficulty levels: BASIC and PRO. The idea is that if you are a new player or a console player without access to Theme Maker's Toolkit items then you can still create realistic parks but the Pro's amongst us can sink their teeth into the Pro level and really put their PC's to the test!

Not sure what seems to have happened to the audio here. The narration seems to only be coming out of the left side, but everything is stereo on my PC. No-one seems to have been bothered by it yet, but just so you know, if you hear nothing in the Right then I'm talking in the left...

LOVE your inclusion of disability access and honestly think the theme park sim genre could benefit from a mechanical incentive to make parks disability accessible, alongisde also adding stuff like maintenance access and emergency escape routes and service vehicle routes. My youngest brother is disabled and it always rubs us the wrong way when real world attractions and theme parks don't have good disability access.

Holy. I was just watching your videos for the first time and was thinking "Wish there was a video on layout" and you release this. Just discovered your channel and it's really good, just what I've been looking for :)

It would be really cool to have a sort of pre planned layout that we could download. Like similar to how the in game scenarios are a very bare bones park. But laid out similar to the "basic" park in the beginning of this video, and then we fill in with our own designs. I feel like I'm good at building individual items, but sometimes integrating them with a larger park as a whole is difficult. So a realistic pre planned park layout could help bridge the gap for people like me that struggle to take things to the next level.

Great tips. But I think it’s also a good idea to start off building a simple, flat park that’s spread out to get the basics. Then to add trees and other scenery items. Then you can start a new park and make it more realistic. Getting the basics down first is a great foundation for getting the hang of controls and visualizing ideas for making it better.

Got this game 3-4 months ago, played 37 hours and i can tell that i'm far away from your level of build. I love your videos!

As a disabled person, I love the fact that you've included that! It would be awesome if the gameplay also included stuff like adding disabled/wheelchair accessible queue lines, toilets, quiet spaces ect.

you got yourself a subscriber! not only is this a thorough, helpful, and detailed tutorial, your attention to the disabled community's needs mean a lot when it seems like everyone forgets about us. as someone who relies on a wheelchair occasionally and wants to be a roller coaster engineer, i think making the world's first wheelchair accessible rollercoaster would be an incredible accomplishment to top off the coaster wars

I have actually decided to build a park that is uhh... a bit more ambitious? if you could call it that? Sacrificing some of the "Park realism" for the individual theme realism, so the guests can fully immerse themselves in the worlds created. Basically there's four themes that act as completely separate locations with their own vibe and layout. They're realistic, but for what they're supposed to be, not for a park. Fairytale section is a town carnaval, so there are streets and alleyways you can go through and buy things. irl the vendors would actually be dressed as medieval folk and sell stuff like jam or sweets. But on the other side, the Crook's Hideout section is fully tropical and partially in water.

In practice what that looks like is any modern buildings or staff areas are either disguised as part of the world, or out of view.

This guy is explaining everything as if it's possible for us to learn and understand it.

A lot of great tips in here. I will note even on crazy fantasy builds adding many of these ideas into your projects can add alot of immersion and make the insane feel tangable.

Haven't played this game in a while but a recent visit to Universal Orlando and Disney World expired me to build a park on my own and to come back to Planet Coaster. With this tutorial hopefully I can create a very realistic theme park, it's a shame Frontier doesn't update it as much as they used to since Planet Zoo came aorund.

Great video. Only downside with some of these items is the Oswald Eugene counter. I would love to do a car park, and like to do big parks, but you can't do both
