At (1:15) you explain the importance of naval power to the Greeks as well as the type of ships and tactics used. This is much appreciated from a viewer (such as myself) who is none too conversant with the war in question. Also, the Queen of Halicarnassus was a terrific (and necessary) addition to the story (5:35), showing Greeks who were allied with the Persians, as often in history water is thicker than blood. She was also someone her Persian friends should have listened to, I learned from this terrific video.

Deception and a deep understanding of what exactly they brought to the table was the Greeks' ticket to victory. Your focus on the effects of fatigue, wind and the width of the area of operations is impressive and helps explain the reason for this outcome.

As always, I am more impressed with each passing video that I watch on this website. I look forward to your first full length documentary or book! Outstanding job, and please keep it going!

Excellent video! I’ve enjoyed all your videos and always learn something new. The evolution of your storytelling craft over the years has also been extremely fun to watch. The script, narration, video selection, editing and music in this one is fantastic. Not sure where you go from here but I can’t wait to see it.

Great end to the Greco-Persian vids. It's wild to imagine what those soldiers must have been thinking and feeling over 2500 years ago, while trying to outmaneuver and sink each other's ship by crashing into them. 😅 Looking forward to the next series!

Well done again miss, and I hope not for the last time. I enjoy your channel greatly.

It may have been worth mentioning here that the Greek fleet, made naturally of wood, was later held to be the “wooden wall” which Delphic oracles had earlier promised to save Athens.

Would you care to share what you are thinking of as a topic for your next video?

The Show Must Go On by Queen, at 00:22 and 9:40? A nice wee bonus in a good video, as always

Great stuff Emilia. It's ironic how the Queen of Halicarnassus was Greek, and I believe Themisticles ended up in Persia when the Greeks got tired of him....I hope there is more to come... although that fade away manoeuvre at the end was ominous..
