Airgun Hunting: Night Vision on a Budget

I am frequently asked if there are any real solutions to finding usable night vision on a budget? I have a possible solution that I'll present in this video.

The NV 200 is a Day/Night Monocle that is attached to your standard hunting scope, providing not only usable night vision at an affordable price, but also allows your hunt to be capture in photos or with video.

It is not at the same quality level as dedicated night vision scopes and for me, won't replace my high-quality night optics (IR and thermal), but it will live in my backpack to ensure I always have night vision when it's needed.

But this device could serve as your primary night hunting rig as well. providing completely acceptable nighttime image quality using only the integrated IR illuminator. I will torture test this gear through the next several months and we'll see how it stands up to my tough (sometimes abusive) use of gear.

Thanks for the review Jim! This is exactly what I need. I don't night hunt, but occasionally have the need to deal with nocternal pests. This could be a way for me to "save the chickens" on a budget I can afford.

I have had one a few months now, it works a treat.
I don't have any other night vision to compare it to, but for my uses, barn and field out to 50+ meters the night time image on small game is good enough for clean shots.

I bought this after 68 Whiskey did a review on it. It works great. I just wish it was a 1x magnification. Maybe that's something you can refer to the company. My 14-year-old son stole it from me to do some mid-range pesting and he's enjoying it almost every day out in the hay bails shooting rats & rabbits. Jim, we like to hear about any products you enjoy. Great review Jim! I think this is a good product for hunters that have several guns with regular scopes, and they want to be able to add night vision and video recording capability on the fly at a reasonable price.

I use ATN X-Sight 4K Pro and the Thor Thermal scopes on my guns, but they are costly.

I admire your honesty and integrity, Jim. The stock would be must comfortable and with ideal eye relief in exactly one position so adjusting for the add-on would be a compromise, no? You give up you sense of distance when you look at a screen opposed to directly to the scope. Any other down-sides in day-mode? To me, the add-ons just don't make sense, if you night hunt you end up with a dedicated setup and then you might as well just get a dedicated (IR) scope. I don't run into the scenario where a day hunt turns into a night hunt although dawn and dusk are of course important times.

Got mine right when they introduced it.
Problem is it's 4X and that times your 3X scope and that's 12X which is too close at 30 yards cuz your field of view is reduced. Concept is good but they need to make it in a 1X

Thanks for the info I almost bought the oneleaf ... but instead I got the firefly es 90 from hajimoto and the adapter from orion the iguana hunter for my scope cam set up about a month ago... its kinda hard to set it up perfectly centered I don't have external monitor to see if it looks centered I tried with my laptop and my computer still couldn't figure it out anyways I'm sorry I'm on a rant I should of just bought the oneleaf or not I wanted something I could just record a quick shot on a dove or pest bird and up load to my Instagram but my phone is not compatible with the camera system lol anyway I'll figure it out some day I just need a better phone thanks for sharing bsafe sorry for my rumbling ....
