Good tip to speed your lab:
Instead of using your raid medals on loot or reinforcement, you can buy some research potions
And use the rest of your raid medals in whatever you want

I do the walls the same way: If I go to puit my last builder up, I spent all the excess elixer and gold so I can just barely do that planned upgrade and nothing else. I have now like 200 walls done and I only have Archer towers, cannons, mortars and collectors left plus like 7 things in the lab and some levels on some heroes. I have done it this way since th9 and it always has alligned almost perfectly every single th level except for like 5 levels on the king or my skeleton spell
