My interview was 5 minutes long, they only confirmed my ID, name, and we did the history questions, then you have to read 3 sentences and they’ll dictate one to you to write. I had to wait another 30m for the oath ceremony and there I was, a citizen.

Hi Jackie! Thanks so much for making all these videos. I had my interview today at 9:30am, I was very nervous but adjudicator was VERY nice. Here the details:
1. Asked Green Card and Passport.
2. Put me under oath.
3. Civil started:
a) What does the Judicial branch do? - Failed.
b) Name one branch of the Government.
c) Who was the President during WW 1?
d) Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?
e) Why did the Colonists come to America?
f) Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?
g) Who is in charge of the Executive branch?
Reading test:
Who elects Congress?
Writing test:
The people elect Congress.
He asked all the questions on N-400, but did not ask any definition and did not asked for any other documentation.
I want to thank you for showing me there’s nothing wrong on asking questions. When he asked if I had any questions, I was ready to say “no” but then I went ahead and asked about how long the waiting time for the ceremony was, I didn’t want to look desperate or anxious but he nicely said: do you have time today? I said: yes. Stay until 1pm and I will put on the list for that group. I couldn’t believe it: Interview and Oath Ceremony the same day.

My interview was short and fast. No definition asks. The officer was calm lady and very polite. She spent most of her time typing my form 😬 I got 6 answers correct and she just went through stuff I filled in my form. Just make sure what I wrote and what I say are the same. I spent 6 months since applying until the oath. So it was quicker than I thought 😬

Hi Jackie, thank you for all your Educative videos to help someone like me passed my interview, I passed my interview today, the main interview was like about 15mins. The officer only asked for my marriage certificate and my ID’s and that’s it and I have been married 3times and my husband also been 3 married 3times also. My interview was so straight to the point and no definition was asked.

Thank you Jackie so much for all hard working. I just passed my exam in Chicago. The officer was super nice and the interview was almost 15 mins. I passed civil, reading, writing exams, then he reviewed my N400 app very fast. I think the keys for this interview are to be confident of yourself and your answers, talking clearly, and smiling all time. He didn’t ask me about any of the definitions. The oath ceremony will be in January as what he said because of the holidays. thanks a lot I pass my citizen test and had same day ceremony . my timeline was 2 and half months .To everyone taking going through this journey don't stress too much . mine was like 7 minutes long and the officer didn't even ask for one evidence. He ask for my info, I did the civics and writing, made one change to my application that's it he recommended for approval .

Hi Jackie, I passed my interview yesterday and it was easy.
My experience:
I arrived early and it was empty because it was Friday 11am. The officer stroke a conversation and we chatted for a bit on the way to his office.
He asked me to red, write, and asked me 6 questions and he asked if I wanted a hard bonus question:
who makes laws, who signs bills into law, who is in charge of the executive branch, name 1 problem that led to the civil war, who is the vice president now, how many senators are there, bonus: how many amendments does the constitution have. ( he joked about if I wanted a hard one as bonus, I said yes)
The entire process from the moment I walked in to walking out took 15 minutes at most.
The overall experience was great as the officer and the staff was cordial and helpful, maybe because there was me and other 3 people in the center…
Bring all your evidence and paperwork, but you might not be asked for it.
I also asked and noticed that they asked if I had taken trips for more than 6 months, I dont think they look at all the trips one by one as long as they are no longer than 6 months.
As for the test, I hardly think the questions are selected by the officer, it is computer generated so it seems, I might be wrong.
I had thought the prior to the interview that the writing portion has relation with the reading portion.
I was asked to read “ who was Abraham Lincoln?” Writing was “ we celebrated thanksgiving in November”
I am waiting for my oath ceremony, I hope it’d be quick.
