Thank you Jim for yet another thoughtful and thorough review. I think like you I will probably end up with both kits but the plastic on this Meng version is incredibly detailed and crisp. I would also note that the Meng kit appears to be about $10 less than the Hong version which is surprising.

You're right! It's such a pity for Hong. I really like the Shilka a lot, maybe because she's so ugly. And I might go for the Hong kit, just because! :)
