Arrogance by the officers and politicians of Britain. Courage and oath to duty by the unnamed soldiers who knew they were going to die but stayed loyal to their oath against the odds.

Men on both sides .
One side for a cause.
The other for duty

Why do they say “Massacred” as though they were killed while sleeping with no chance to defend themselves?? They lost in battle to a superior enemy, even though the British had all the latest weapons, to a Zulu army with spears. It was not a massacre, it was a defeat. RIP all who have needlessly lost their lives in war

And then that one British Royal Engineer officer in Rorke's Drift. He just has to win

It is very interesting that this popped up as I am finishing watching Zulu. The Zulu were a very tough combatant.

About 11.000 Zulus were dead or wounded.

Conveniently ignores that the Zulus actually suffered more killed in this battle than the British. Especially when you take into account the Zulus primitive medical knowledge likely led to the death of most of their wounded in the following days

If the 1500 British had “ massacred “ 20’000 Zulus would they still have been “ mighty “

1727 British soldiers killed... Against more than 6 thousand Zulu warriors killed...

Yeah guys... You shouldn't bloat about this one.

They fought hard but their hubris was their undoing. The British army grossly underestimated the Vaunted Zulu, more than just wild men with spears, clubs and bows. The reality was the Zulu were fearless tactical geniuses.
