The latest "anti-sanctions" Lada Granta has no airbag, no anti-lock braking system, no Electronic Stability Control and no seat-belt pretensioners.

Very sad. I remember a family member owned a lada I think from 2014, very modern car, had bluetooth even, all airbags, ESC, ABS, reliable engine etc. It's sad how due to the sanctions Lada is forced to make cars which rival 1980s car technology.

Too bad that Lada has moved out from Hungary. I heard that they had issues with the cars and parts supply back then. A dealership had to used up one of them cars from the showroom to get parts for a customer's car. Few months ago i maintaned a Kalina, and getting a window washer pump was real pain to the a$$.

Looks like they're using a simple torsion bar for rear suspension instead of a basic twist beam setup with coil springs, also I haven't seen distributors on new car for a long time, very basic car indeed.

An 8 Valve? Why would they downgrade from 16 Valve? Lada has some 16V engines for sure, even from years back.

I mean this car reminds me of the Lada 2107 only modern looking, but still simple, if you need a vehicle to get around. If it was automatic it would be better but, manual transmission cars are cheaper to make I guess...
