My Irish uncles went to a club where he was preforming, needless to say some jokes were anti Irish, but after show he sat with them and bought all at tables free drink. He ended up staying with them and all were soon laughing and joking.. uncles said later he was great crack to be with and they never laughed so much when he joined them..
