The growing use of modular components for buildings and infrastructure work adds even greater efficiencies without impacting creative design. But over years of Dodge Data & Analytics research studies, contractors’ top obstacle to doing more of both is that projects aren’t specifically designed to facilitate optimizing these offsite approaches.

New research by Dodge explores both the current use of each of these approaches and the state of structured communication and understanding among design and construction teams about how to design for best use of them and benefit the project.
