This car was designed to be wreaked into a fruit stand as a getaway driver powerslides away

"It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters, so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Blues-mobile, or what?!!"

I live in Springfield IL where the ISP heritage museum is located. They bring these cars out to local car shows and parades all the time. Their headquarters has a bubble Caprice on blocks out front. It's really cool that these guys keep these cars around.

That is a rolling coronary artery disease machine. I can almost smell the pall malls, farts, and burnt coffee from my computer. Officer Burt died 25 years back from a heart attack, saw the spice girls on MTV and just bowled over.

I adore 70s barges. There's nothing quite as lovely as vintage lighting setups. Big rotating beacon lights just look magnificent, and vintage sirens sound great too. Love all of that 1970s body roll - makes for perfect chase scenes!

This is quite a friendly looking police car compared to modern police cars. And man that interior is nice!

Those C Body Fuselage Plymouths, Dodges, and Chryslers (69-73) were some of the best designs ever. Thanks for the video.

3:25 "That man is sick!"

"Groundskeeper Willie saved you, Homer"

"But listen to the music, he's evil!"

8:00 Also depending on the jurisdiction, you also need to show your police car isn't "active" with respective visual signage, usually "NOT IN SERVICE" magnetic signage, a/or removable logos.

Plus, civilian ownership of Red/Blue Emergency Lighting is restricted in some areas. Hawaii expressly forbids this, but things do fall thru the cracks.

Points for the "Pink Flamingos" reference. Luckily Divine moved to Idaho at the end. This car is a nice homage done right.

Gosh, this Dodge is telling me that modern big SUVs and crossovers are just trying so hard not to admit that all along, people have just wanted a wagon, but with higher clearance for occasional light off-road use.

My neighbor was a Southfield MI police officer in the ‘70’s when I was growing up and had one of these in 1978 that he got at an equipment sale. It was tan with a baby diahreea brown interior… it was huuuge!

I was a kid growing up in a small town in Illinois in the 1970’s. My small town had 5 State Troopers, including a Communications Tech who drove one of these wagons, and a Lieutenant who drove an unmarked sedan. ISP Troopers were larger than life to us kids and they stopped by playgrounds and let us sit in the car and turn on the lights and siren and talk through the PA speaker. Thanks for the memories!
