It was after reacting recently to Stell's cover of "My Heart Will Go On" that I got the idea to write an original song for him. I know his voice, his range, his skill, and his personality. I thought about what Stell might want to say to the people who love him (of course I had to include a line about being our "sunshine boy" - or in this case, our "sunny smile"). I thought about what kind of song would allow his vocals to shine. I wanted a soaring melody, I wanted it to be a sincere and touching message. This song is what flowed out of me. It was finished in a couple hours. Whether he ever sings it or not, I can honestly say that Stell is truly an inspiration; he is the reason I wrote this song.
