Math 201 Lecture 3 - Functions and their representations continued and some essential functions

In this lecture we continue our discussion of functions. We talk about properties like symmetry (as exhibited by even and odd functions) and increasing and decreasing. We then move on to section 1.2 in the text to talk about some of the essential functions we will be dealing with in this course: polynomials, power functions, reciprocal functions, trig functions, etc. We only get up to talking about polynomials in this lecture.
