E182: Let’s Drive It! Tamiya Astute TD2 2022. First Trial Run ! Good Or Bad?

After a bit of cheating ;) we finally have a useable Tamiya TD2 chassis to run. In this video I take it out for its first run and test the water with it before going to brushless power!

It’s a big improvement over a DT03, having a Slipper Clutch & new design. I wonder how it compare’s to the DN01 Zahhak 2wd buggy, that’s based on the TRF 201. I need a TD2 for my collection, because it’s so different in design to what I have. Nice looking paint job 👍🏻

Velcro on the front, very nice! Generally I think it looks quite nice, the shot where you see it on the ground, right from up top, it looks really sleek and fast. And yeah, it looks like it did alright on the grass, too, better than the 4wd version on all areas. I'm still skipping it, though, I now almost got everything I need to build a DT-02 for the summer, that I am looking forward to.

Wow, that TD2 looks really good, and runs really well too! As you said, a bit of understeer, but apart from that it looked like it was handling extremely well. Nice one!!

Looking good Andy and going pretty well too! I would of probably stuck with boxart but added 2022 to the Astute decal so it would read Astute 2022 like the box but that's just me!
Bit like the TD4 only has Avante decal on it and (Super in small) Super Avante! Lets brag about tamiya! I must be becoming a tamiya Great vid mate😉👍

Looks like it goes pretty well Andy. Was there any understeer at all? I have been wondering how it compares to the DT range of cars and what adjustments might be needed? Looks like the front end stays down which is a positive 👍🏻🙌🏻 Great video as always dude
