How to Fix Broken Pin on Fanatec Quick Release (Wheel Base)

Показать описание
If a broken pin from your wheel's quick release gets stuck inside the wheelbase connector and you can't remove it, replacing the entire cable is how you get back on the road. This is an easy job for anyone who has ever successfully swapped out a smartphone battery or installed a HDD, CPU or GPU into a computer.

I have mine apart as I type this. Not because of the pin problem but because the limiter nut has literally disintegrated its threads after five years. I had wondered why my wheel was losing force feedback detail since I knew it couldn't have been the motor or drive belts. Turns out the limiter threads were slowly getting eaten away and beginning to foul up the motion of the main worm shaft. Having to replace the limiter is much more involved but still appears to be quite doable with the additional tools needed being circlip pliers to remove the two circlips. But I am struggling to understand why Fanatec did not use captive nuts on the part that limits the movement of the limiter towards the front of the wheelbase. It just seems to make the job more difficult than it needs to be. That and the glue on the mainboard connector (which in my case happily just peeled away in one piece at room temperature.

Do you happen to have a video for how to do this on the Playstation version of the CSL Elite?

My limiter ring broke which caused the wheel to continuously spin to the right on start up when my daughter started it up and shredded all the wires off the plug. All my wires are white and not colored and I can’t find.l a replacement. Any chance you know the wiring diagram to each pin on the female connector? Anyone have a picture of a spare one from the back?

I have a servo base V2 and I love it, but my fan never stop’s running at full speed. It wasn’t like this when I bought 🤷🏻‍♂️

Could the pins be eliminated and connect wires directly. I mean if you're never going to swap the wheel?

Thank you so much for this video! I suspect I have the same issue! I read that you still have issues though?

So, are you fully back to 100% or still some lingering issues? (FFB intermittent issues)
