Damn, Em's lyrics hit you harder when they're read without the music.

I think it’s a very nice episode but you could have made the elders realize how Eminem also had a rough life and showed them songs like when I’m gone or cleaning out my closet. I feel like some elders were left with a wrong impression of Marshall

"I can't separate the artist from his politics." Wow. It's almost like he's been political for most of his career or something.

Eminem is the only artist who's been acknowleged by every age of people. Nobody can be as lyrical as him.

I wish these people watched “8 Mile” right after this

No Mockingbird lyrics? The elders would’ve loved that!

I know they’re elders, but I’m surprised non of them recognized the lyrics as Eminem’s, especially the ones from “Lose Yourself”.

I disagree with the last guy, I think that’s one of the big reasons people make music; to speak their mind and influence people, in at least what they think is, in a positive way. If there were no politics or opinions in these songs then they would be so bland, and some even meaningless.

Eminem's word are not meant to influence you.... They're to give a voice to the voiceless.... A lot of people feel the way he does.... But our words don't make it far past our circle of friends.... Eminem, and other artists, are in a position to stand up and speak out against situations they disagree with.... You either agree with him or you don't.... That choice is yours....

I want to address the moment that starts at 6:54 . I completely understand his perspective. However, things such as music and art have always been used to send a message whether you agree or disagree with it. Just because they are famous doesn't mean they don't have opinions they want to share. Art has been used in history to criticise, to give your opinion, to spread a message ect. Eminem is doing the same thing. Some people may not agree with the position that he is taking and that is fine. Eminem obviously stands firm on some issues and he will take a stand if he thinks its right. Everyone, no matter their opinion, should be able to voice it however they want.

Wish they would have asked the guy in the green shirt what he thought of John Lennon or the countless amount of other artists in the 60's and 70's that spoke out about politics and the Vietnam War

That one old guy got really pissy when he found out that Eminem was exercising his 1st amendment right to speak freely.
