When he was on stage once, getting a lifetime achievement award, Peter Falk said people always ask him, "Who is/was Mrs. Columbo?" He pointed to his own wife sitting at the front table and said, "There she is, right there." With a huge smile on his face. It was a nice moment.

“You tried to kill my wife and you tried to kill me. I take that personally”. Perfect Columbo line.

"This is not my beautiful house. That was not my beautiful wife."

"You may ask yourself, ma'am: 'well, how did I get here?'"

Mrs. Columbo was the best co-star no one has ever seen. Peter Falk was brilliant!

"You tried to kill my wife, and you would've killed me. I take that very personally." That's a wonderful line. And the phone call at the end was so sweet. This is a very well written show.

The wife was the longest running joke in the Columbo series. Just when the fans thought they've seen what she looks like, comes a clanger right at the end of this episode.

I love the little humanizing touch that she *almost* stops him.

The dialogue with his wife at the end was really nice.

I love the way Columbo sets Mrs.Dimetri up. Also the fact that the audience thinks that they finally get to see what Mrs. Columbo looks like in the picture. It turns out that it wasn't her, and that we will never get to see her.

I loved the "I take that very personally" line .. said as columbo, not cold hearted, yet still dispassionate, that brilliance of his mind stepped away from the situation saying it was annoyed for once. LOL

The conversation with Mrs. Columbo at the end was proof that he actually was married.

Do not EVER underestimate Columbo, he's playing 5d chess while you're playing marbles.

The moment when Columbo drops the bomb “this is not my kitchen floor.”😂

One of, if not the very best Columbo episodes. You can feel the mixed emotions of the killer and you see Columbo doing what he does best: suppling the rope for the killer to hang themselves. Near perfect acting all around. Subdued yet strong. Something sadly lacking these days.

Columbo is known for setups like this. The one I can remember best is where he catches his own boss the deputy police commissioner by pretending an apartment he just rented is the home of a wanted serial burglar suspected of the murder of his wife. He of course falls into the trap by planting stolen goods there, only to be told by Columbo it is not the burglars house but one he himself just recently signed the lease on.

Why is it that every time I see Columbo eat that piece of toast, I start thinking the worst when I know he's going to be okay? I know he's acting. I know that that marmalade is not tainted and I have seen this clip before so I already know how it's going to end but still I feel like, "Don't eat that toast!"

I love this character.
My grandmother just gave me her complete series and movies.
She's old now and wanted to make sure it was me who had them. She's so sweet. She loved this show and I have many memories watching it with her as a kid. I'm not sure my kids will watch it but I will.
