7 years ago my dad and me were getting ready for the funeral of my aunt, when he received a call. The musician, who was supposed to play at the funeral was involved in a car accident, at which no one got hurt, but she wouldn’t make it on time anymore. I took the car and drove out to my aunts house, where I had 30 minutes to pick a song from the CDs laying around. I was rushing through songs, through CDs. And this song had me within the 5 seconds I gave each track. I got calm. I cried.

Honestly, I didn’t have the feeling anybody else connected with the song at the funeral. It’s only me, who will always be both soothed and terrified by this song. But I’m at peace, I really trusted my inner voice. And now I’m once again back here, because I miss my auntie, who must have been my guardian angel: every new year she lit a glowing candle for everyone she loved for their new year. Since she’s not doing it anymore, since it was me, who needed to protect her body, times really have changed. Somehow it was only since then, that I needed to learn to really take care of myself.
Rest in peace, auntie and thank you. I saw your incredible strength <3
