18yo can join the military and get blown to bits in some foreign country
18yo can vote and decide on the future of the country.
But god forbid an 18yo decides which other legal adult they wanna date!
Some people here in the comments say "but the brain doesn't stop developing until 25" etc, so should we raise the age of majority where people can vote or sign legal contracts or join the military to 25 too?

The only reason why it's weird, is because they're in two completely different phases of life. Life wise, they're probably not compatible. I personally know someone who is 50 and is dating someone who is 30. They're great together, the only problem is she's 50 with adult children and doesn't want anymore kids. He's only 30 and is ready to have a family. They've broken up several times because of it but they always get back together.

Thing is though, he will probably meet someone else who is his age and ready to have a family like he is and he will leave her for the younger woman. Attraction is great but you need compatibility in order to have a long sustaining relationship.

It’s just gross if a 45 year old is attracted to a 18/19 year old. I don’t really care if they’re both adults because she’s still a teen and he can retire in 20 years. Age gaps are fine if they’re in the same stage in life, these two are not
