BASF Behind the Scenes – Revysol® (1/5): Synthesis & Molecule Optimization

Did you ever wonder how a new crop protection product is developed? This video series explains the process of developing and producing a new chemical compound on the basis of Revysol®, a next-generation fungicide active ingredient from the triazole chemical class.

From the very beginning, Revysol has been designed to prove an effective remedy against plagues that current products have difficulty combatting, such as resistant Septoria. It is the first Isopropanol-Azole being introduced to the market and has recently gained approval for use in the EU and many other countries around the world, meeting high regulatory standards that protect consumers and farmers alike.
Sales are expected to exceed €1 billion as it is one of the most important recent innovations that helps farmers protect their crops under a variety of growing conditions, resulting in higher and more consistent yields.
