Amsterdam 7 hour Layover | Is it enough time?

We had an early morning layover in Amsterdam on Saturday, March 5th 2022. We landed at 7am and arrived in the city by 8:30am. Thing don't really open until 10am but we still had a good time walking around, it was quite chilly though. A 7 hour layover means you have about 3-4hrs in the city. We were nervous on whether we would be allowed to go out because of Covid but they were pretty chill! Hope you enjoy!

Perfect! I'll be staying in a hotel near the airport before embarking on a cruise out of the city and was wondering how difficult it could be to go and see the city in between. You just showed me ❤ Thank you!

Hi there, thank you for this video - it is perfect for my upcoming travel/research. Quick question - I will be flying from Chicago - Amsterdam - Delhi, and have a similar 7 hour layover. When you get off in Amsterdam and exit the airport, do you need to get your luggage out as well? I wouldnt think so since it should be checked through to the final Destination (Delhi) - but just confirming. Thank you!

We are going to be having a 14-hour layover in Amsterdam here in a couple months so we are looking at doing the same thing and popping into town for awhile. We are wondering how the locker situation works at the airport. Are the lockers inside the secured area where you don't have to take them back through security when you come back?

Where did you guys leave your bags? At the airport or in the train station lockers?

Hi Sheeba, my fiancée and I are flying into Barcelona for a few days and then flying back to the US but we have a 20 hr lay over at the Schiphol Airport outside of Amsterdam. We would be able to leave the the Schipol airport right? Our plan is to get a hotel in Amsterdam do the day.

Hi just a quick question. When you arrive at the airport for a transit, do you exit as though you arrive or do you go to the Transit area to exit the airport.
