I live in Arizona, so with a big part of the Navajo Nation in our state, we do hear quite a bit about the Codetalkers. Much respect for those guys.

I had a WW2 veteran neighbor that was on a ship waiting to invade Japan! He said the troops were told of a secret weapon to be used first. He was so happy we dropped the two big bombs to end the war! It saved a million lives!

"Corps" is NOT pronounced the same as the word "corpse" . It is French and is pronounced like the word "core" with the P and S being silent.

How could anyone mix up 7th Division's action in the Aleutians with theirs in Okinawa? They are on the southern edge of the Artic Ocean, while Okinawa is on the east-central edge of the Pacific Ocean!

Free corpse? That's a deal, but no thank you.

Clickbait title - there's nothing creepy about any of these stories and none of them are "hidden", a short search on the internet will find info on all of these topics
And corps is a word of French origin, it is normally pronounced 'core', not as 'corpse'

Okinawa having freezing temperatures? It barely ever goes under +20C a year. I think you mixed up the temperature with the Aleutian Islands, they are super cold nearly all year and in spring winter, and fall it goes under -30C easily down to under -40C in winter.

The Codetalkers deserve all the respect being shown. I think there is another side to the story. As I recall, The WWII effort was the result of recognizing how effective a similar effort had been made by a different tribe during WWI.

The 7th ID had 3 MoH's recipients during WW2. They had an additional 13 MoH's recipients during the Korean Conflict. Not the 17 that he mentions.

WW2 itself was scary enough for those who took part in it and those who suffered under the totalitarian regimes of the time that's all that needs to be said really its the horror of the war itself which left millions dead and millions more displaced from their homes and allowed the USSR to carve up most of eastern Europe many of which are still suffering from the effects of decades long communist dictatorship to this day which is why living standards in those countries is generally lower than those of western Europe.

I’m glad you included the Aleutian Island Campaign. Even though Alaska wasn’t officially a state in WWII, it was a very strategic US Territory. After Pearl Harbor, Imperial Japan occupied the outer 3 islands in this Alaskan Chain. Schools teach us that America was unoccupied during WWII but real historians know that is untrue.

The producer of this video states that Okinawa has temperatures well below zero.
