Russian helicopter attacks Ukraine sea drone - but finds it has a missile to defend itself

New footage shows Russian helicopter
pilots shooting a Ukrainian sea drone.

The Ukrainian sea drone
appears to have been fitted with
a soviet era R-73 air-to-air missile. This is the first time a modified
sea drone with missile
has been seen in footage.

The uncrewed surface vessel performs
sharp manoeuvres to escape the helicopter
but it is eventually destroyed.

It was a Russian drone boat being used for propaganda purposes and the operator deliberately halted the boat to make it an easy target. Ukraine doesn't use it's drone boats in broad daylight

Ukraine will refine the technology. This is valuable learning data. AI vision targeting and launch could help along with a swivel base on the missile launcher, so that the drone doesn't have to reposition itself to get a clear shot at the aircraft. Not a huge technical obstacle. Just a little bit of electrical and computer engineering ???

This is very scary for the Russians. Imagine a bunch of similarly armed ship drones, each 1 km apart and in line. If a helicopter goes after a drone ship, there will be another firing a missile at it.
