If you could make it work with a variety of torque sensors and the eggrider display system that would be incredible. I'm not aware of any solutions at this moment to build a quality, simple hub driven bike system with modern display compatibility, torque sensing, and efficient power modulation, certainly not regen. The only things out there are torque compatible Lushui controllers (impossible to get), and ASI Systems stuff which requires a $1000 usd oem kit. Grin technologies does make a functional system but it costs $300 for a display and controller and uses a massive 90s analogue display unit with half a dozen non removable cables coming out of it. There is a huge hole in the market for affordable and compact controllers that could be used in budget diy builds. A lot of people buy conversion kits from companies like hilltopper etc that limit you to throttle or poor cadence pas, and use low quality motors. If your controller was under $100 people could easily buy it, an eggrider, a helical hub motor, erider torque sensor, and sub 400wh battery for well under $700 usd. That would give them a silent, efficient system that's simple to assemble and functions at the level of high end bikes with natural pas systems. You could undercut cheap, noisy cadence sensing bikes in the 1-1.5k category and mid drives like the bafang that lack good pas or TSDZ2 that has torque pas but lacks reliability. Clean higo connections, modular ports, small enough to mount in a halong case, adjustable power ramp and torque curve, support for auxiliary range extender batteries, and silent sine wave operation (no near supersonic pwm noise) would seal the deal.
