DIY LiFePo⁴ 32650 used in my car. BMS is a special kind with intermittent peak high current up to 800Amp and continuous 50amp charging (as per seller claims).

This video shows the inside of battery before doing some upgrade for the battery. Totally forgot to snap the video after upgrading.

Upgrade Features:-

The position of meter have been relocated on top of battery for much easier access to take a reading. All holes are covered with the same old removable refilling plugs for ventilation purposes and some fasteners for easy removable access for any possibility of maintenance and upgrade.

Still proscastinate to paint the white part of battery casing.

Some thought:-

Soldering thicker wires are quite difficult without very hot soldering iron.

Use proper wires size (preferably dual wires for each terminal for much better current distribution and cooler operations). Silicon wires are the best choice.

Very light with high power. Original lead acid was 45Ah. This one is just 20Ah. Based on DOD of lead acid, it was just around 20Ah, almost the same like new battery.

4 cells enable for two (2) starting operations before it drains. 16 cells (4S 4P) enable for eight (8) starting operations.

Lead acid in general have around 500-1000 life cycle with 50% DOD which translated about 3 years operations for me. This battery theoretically have 2000-3000 life cycle with above 80% DOD.

Conclusion:-

I don't want to use lead acid battery anymore. This battery is even good for solar system.
