Regarding 0:59, the gold bars in Fort Knox are not low purity. Instead they are high purity 90% gold + 10% copper alloy made from melted down United States Mint gold coins. This is because 90% gold coins were the standard prior to 1933 and 24 karat 100% pure gold is too soft to be used as money. On the other hand, the lowest purity of gold that can be legally called gold in the United States is 10 karat gold, which contains 41.67% gold. Furthermore, Fort Knox does not contain 8, 133 tonnes of gold. Instead Fort Knox contains 4, 582.844 tonnes of gold which is 56.34% part of the total 8, 133.46 tonnes in the United States Gold Reserves. The rest of the gold is distributed among the other gold storage locations as follows. The West Point Mint in New York contains 1, 681.682 tonnes of gold. The Denver Mint in Colorado contains 1, 364.003 tonnes of gold. The Federal Reserve Bank in Manhattan, New York City contains 418.429 tonnes of gold. The total United States Gold Reserves is 8133.46 tonnes = 261, 496, 811.19 troy ounces.

They’ve given them plenty of time and notice to fill it up if it wasn’t already. They should’ve just shown up for a surprise audit.
