Nitrogen application on Wheat 2020 | Vlog 68

2020 fieldwork has begun with the application of 28% UAN (nitrogen) and ATS (sulfur) on our winter canola and winter wheat. Things seem to go smoothly and even leave enough time to get some hayseed and oats planted before the rain.

My family loves watching you guys farm, we also farm here in Ontario. Proudly Canadian farmers keep up the good work don’t hesitate to share any farming secrets the more detail the better I say lol, this day and age farming seems to be more mentally straining than physically, I’m learning that first hand. I started farming in 2012 and have learned a lot via you tube thanks

Mark - Nicely done. So, it's not just tractors and combines, you have to be a chemist too. Sandra Ackerman probably said it best for us city folks. "I hope there's not a test after this..." Blessings to you, Sandi, and the family. Stay safe, and stay strong, firmly in His grip. From the retired Pastor in Davenport, Iowa.

My dad was a farmer and rancher, but I never got to see the details of it only him driving the tractor through the field. I did go with him however to the other ranch to feed & check cattle. I love watching you and Sandi and hearing all the details.

Love the video of the beginning of the 2020 season, Mark! Those of us who are not farmers have NO idea how hard you all work! We are so lucky to have our farmers! Proud of you and Sandi!

Mark I know that this is all very serious work you're doing, but I was like a kid in the candy store. Riding inside was the best I felt like was right there watching the whole process. You honestly made my day so thank you so very much. Its seems to be a bit different from what the farmer did on the property we rented. He would plant it, then let someone graze their cattle on it all winter, then about spring the cattle were removed and he let the wheat grow. Then towards end of may the harvesters came to cut the wheat. They came from Colorado and set up camp for about 2 weeks unless it rained then it was a bit longer. You seem to have the darnedest luck with hoses and things not quite wanting to cooperate for you. But I enjoy your positive attitude, you always have a way of making me laugh, and I find myself saying okay what's next lol. Truly appreciate all you do and share it really helps to brighten my day and I learn alot of different things along the way. So again thank you so much for taking the time to share your life and what it takes to keep your farm going. Take care, stay safe and healthy. Best always Rusty

I just went back and rewatched your oct planting wheat vid. I am I right in thinking the wheat germinates in October then emerges and then spends a lot of the winter under the snow? It is unbelievable that it survives the winter. We don't get snow so we plant and it just grows slowly all winter, spring till harvest (like Texas wheat I assume) Could you please mention the wheat process in a vid thanks. I love your vids and enjoy learning about the differences between farming in the northern and southern hemisphere. Thanks

Another great educational video. Discoursing when when you get a piece of equipment back from the shop and it still acts up. Good luck getting the remainder early work done.

Just saw Sandi's video. I'm so sorry you are dealing with poison ivy. That's so miserable. Our dr had us use plain yellow mustard. It dries everything up. My brother used to get it all the time. Bless your heart. Feel better soon!

My husband and I was on Utube just seeing what we could watch while we stayed home. We watched videos from the summer of 2019 on you family harvesting soybeans, wheat and tending sheep. We thorought enjoyed the videos in fact we watched the different ones for four hours. People do not realize how hard the farmers work to provide people with food. I hope your family is safe at this time and during the recent situration . My husband and I are not farmers ee live in Oromocto NB in an aprtment building, but we enjoyed your videos. Stay safe.
