The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have once again clashed over the issue of law and order in Delhi. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal accused the Centre of failing to ensure safety in the national capital, while BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi hit back, saying that AAP has a history of corruption and criminal activity. Kejriwal said that if the Centre handed over law and order to the AAP government, Delhi would be the safest city in the country. Lekhi responded by pointing out that Kejriwal's former deputy chief minister, Manish Sisodia, is currently in jail on corruption charges. She also alleged that AAP's PWD minister, Satyendar Jain, is involved in criminal activities, and that over 40 AAP MLAs have been accused of corruption or criminal activity. Referring to Punjab, Lekhi said that AAP needs to "clean up its own house" before it can criticize the Centre on law and order.
