The machines are built in Germany along side the ‘high performance’ line with no compromises but this now offers high quality at a lower cost, so UK engineers that may of thought 'can I afford a Hermle' they can now. Paul talks technical with Dan to really understand the options available on the Hermle C250. If you are looking for a high end 5 Axis machine, Hermle’s performance range is well worth discussing with GEO Kingsbury.

MTDCNC are proud to offer a platform that educates engineers throughout the World. Our main audience is the UK market and you'll see from this video that we focus on learning and talking to UK based engineers. We do travel to Europe and review products on request of our clients.

Paul Jones from MTDCNC is a terrific interviewer and always gets to the real nub of the matter [the Jeremy Paxman of the engineering world if you like]. His own engineering knowledge is clearly considerable and he manages to tease out of Dan some really exciting aspects of the Hermle 250 [i.e. the bit about "sacrificial aluminium bushes"]. Great job Paul!

After mentioning how it’s more affordable, at least twice, maybe three or four times, why not just tell the base price

i work all 17 years with Hermle 800v and he is still in good shape, its maybe a little more expensive, but on the longer time its cheaper , the plc is much better designed than much other brands when you have a error pusch on clear and take the z axis a little up and start again , when he is moving to the tools changer you, can stop half way if you will, and start again, and that is not going with lot other milling machines, he is simple to get out a error . i still love to work with him every day , and he is doing what you are will to, and you have not to dig in lot menu`s

Yes Hermle is a very good machine tool.

Can I afford it? No. I can't even afford the shipping and installation cost for a machine like that. Not to mention I don't have a backyard shop to put it in, or Phase 3 power. But that's besides the point. ;)
