The RAF Centre for Air and Space Power Studies (RAF CASPS) rarely-seen before historic ‘leadership’ themed video series this month features, Marshal of the Royal Air Force Lord Neil Cameron Baron Cameron of Balhousie KT GCB CBE DSO DFC in conversation with Group Captain (later Air Vice-Marshal) Tony Mason CB CBE DL at the RAF Staff College, Bracknell, in July 1980.

In this interview, Lord Cameron talks openly about the events during his 40-year career which saw him rise from non-commissioned pilot to Marshal of the Royal Air Force.

His commands included 258 Squadron, RAF Abingdon and 46 Group before going on to become Chief of the Air Staff and finally Chief of the Defence Staff.

As Chief of the Defence Staff, he developed a reputation for ‘speaking his mind’ and was instrumental in raising the profile of the position in the public domain. Here is Marshal of the Royal Air Force Lord Neil Cameron Baron Cameron of Balhousie KT GCB CBE DSO DFC ‘In the Midst of Things’.
