In this video, I share strategies to help students navigate this important shift in their journeys as readers!

I’m not a teacher but I’m teaching my six and a half year old son whom struggling with reading any word. Yesterday I tried CVC words with continuous sound and it worked with him. We were so happy that he got the idea of blending. Thank you for sharing these tips.

I am a retired first grade teacher preparing 2 grandkids for Kindergarten. I always taught my students to sound out words. Your videos are the best! Thank you for new tips and great demonstrations.

Not a teacher, but noticed my kindergartener knows all his letters, sounds, and can easily segment, but struggles with blending! Thanks for all these tips!

I home school my 10 yr old in the spectrum since my daughter was diagnosed with breasts cancer. I've researched so many websites. I'm so blessed to have found you. Although I've gotten through a lot of what you've covered learning the reason why phonics is taught in a certain way makes total sense to me now. We also homeschool because one year in public school was very detrimental to him. He regressed two grades. Praise the Lord, he's doing better. I will continue to follow you. Thank you for all these tips today. Blessings❤

Have you hit a roadblock with students who are at this transition phase? Ones that know their letter sound but can’t quite put that knowledge together to read words? Type “yes” in the comments if you’ve experienced this.

Yes. Reading tutor for 2k girls and 2 2nd boys. The girls are nearly at this point-getting them to recognize letter apart from the alphabet song, and sounds. Thank you for your work
