I've got the DeWalt version, brilliant tools .. top tip, don't use the 2ah batteries, it kills the cells after a while of cutting Unistrut as it draws a lot of current, use the 5ah, 2 parallel cells = more chooch factor

A nice tip from the other side of the pond.
How about comparing safety to an angle grinder?
Looking forward to that discussion.
Work is not all about making quick money, its also about sustaining healty.

My 18v Milwaukee band saw is around 15 years old and still cuts like a champ. I use the 12v version alot as well. It's perfect for small diameter pipe and ⅝ strut.

I have the metabo one but I find the blade cracks and breaks before the go blunt. Which types of blades are best I use it for cutting uni strut, steel tube, threaded rod and SWA cables

I like the black Milwaukee boxes… they are red, here in the US…

These are a must have for us here in the IBEW, Boston, MA chapter. They have small handheld m12 versions that are great for small conduit, medium size m18, and the 4” that you are using. Very nice tool. The metal dust created isnt ideal for data centers and other sensitive areas, so we use a hydraulic strut cutter for that

Add a level bubble on top to aid straight cut

Saves getting the chop saw out every time!

I'd like to see a comparison between this and a £200 chop saw.

I have a Bosch portaband, if you tap one of the blade guides and screw in a a plate of steel (I used target steel) you can put the saw in a vice or make a stand or buy a stand and do smaller work just USE A PUSH STICK!

Top tip for you : when cutting kindorf (trunken) like that always start on one edge instead of flat. Saves you half the time although it takes some skill to get a straight cut

Wow cool saw bit on the large side though,
I think I will stick with the my old faithful hacksaw. Great video as always Gordon 👍

You have got to do a lot of sawing to warrant the expense of one of those, i think the American version is slightly different, a few years ago at Goonhilly Earth Station the guys from Miami had one and said at the time they were illegal in this country, something to do with the blade guards. Nice bit of kit though.

fwiw you're meant to start at a 45 and then towards it as it cuts. You'll end up snapping the blade by going through straight down.

My first top tip, shit can that tiny battery. Milwaukee has the best selection of batteries in the game. They are overpriced but they work the best.
