Very cool that you'll be able to use the same nut. The funny thing is you'll have a lot of nuts on the video where you show the results. I wish you luck man but I'm willing to bet you won't change anybodies mind. :)

Picking up the amp tomorrow, (1968 Fender Deluxe) testing begins tomorrow evening.

A P90 straight to the output? Niiiice! This will be fun. Be sure you get a real clean amp with lots and lots of headroom and a flat EQ...which sort of rules out Marshall and Fender now that I think about it. In fact a solid state amp might not be a bad idea either. Try several amps while you're at it. It'd be a nice illustration of the differing tonal properties of amps as well. Cool stuff!

Don't think the amp will be that critical, your using the the same one for both guitars. My 40+ years of empirical evidence say's wood matters. All of the science I've seen "disproving" tonewood is incomplete in taking into account the interaction of all parts. I've a computor geek buddy who's been involved with all aspects of audio all his life. One comment he made was science can always be manipulated to prove a point. And no matter what the conclusions drawn of the theory, you can't disreguard empirical evidence. Which is what all these anti tonewoodies are doing. Can't wait! Thank's for all the time!
