I think it has alot of elements that are different than Die Hard.But even if it was a remake so what?I would say that it is a variation of the Die Hard story just like San Andreas is a variation on Earthquake(1974) and Skyscraper is a variation on The towering inferno(1974)I hardly remember Die Hard and it has been decades since i saw it and never thought it was good enough to rewatch.I love movies where the main action hero is a female.Even if it was a remake of Die Hard i would still watch it since i am always interested in remakes.I would say that it takes about half of the movie before it gets interesting on a stable level.The first half almost seems like a tv movie and when Daisy gets out of bed there is one of the worst song i have ever heard in my life.I really loved the main villain but i hated the way he was ....let just say (to avoid spoilers)...stopped from hurting other people. The movie as a whole isn't totally satisfying but it has enough good action and thrills.
