I ran into a genuine block when starting a bullet journal because I have a lot of shame around my handwriting.  I was a straight-A student in grade school until I brought home my first F in penmanship.  Things didn’t improve when I got older as my handwriting was frequently called sloppy and untidy by other students and my teachers.    

I hesitated before I started writing my intentions on the first page, but eventually, I took a deep breath and began. However, as soon as I saw how terrible my handwriting looked, I felt disgusted with myself and slammed the table in anger and shame. Tears nearly filled my eyes; it was tempting to just give up. I wanted to push through and start bullet-journaling because I know the value of handwriting these notebooks, but it all feels impossible when it looks so messy. Every time I see those beautifully artistic journals on social media, I feel like such a failure because I can't seem to make my writing look presentable.

Is there any help you can offer?
