French Bread Pizza: Pizza or Glorified Bread? || Really Dough?

After settling back into the road trip, Mark is ready to hit the road with Scott again. But that doesn’t mean he has to stop giving Scott a hard time! Once Mark gets some good digs in, they decide to switch it up and get hot dogs at Spike’s Junkyard Dogs in Allston, Massachusetts. But once they get there, Scott spots a french bread pizza on the menu, and obviously, he can’t not order it! Will Mark think bread counts as dough? Is Mark even willing to eat more pizza? Will Mark ever let Scott live the low key kidnapping down?

What makes a pizza, a pizza? Lucali owner and old-school Brooklyn pizzaiolo Mark Iacono has a strict pizza formula: sauce, cheese, and dough. That’s it. But renowned pizza enthusiast Scott Wiener believes that the beauty of the slice comes from its creative customizability; even if it’s topped with cheeseburgers or constructed with paella. Scott travels all over America to spotlight the country’s most unique pies and make a case for whether these new customizations can, in fact, still be considered a pizza. This time, he’s taking Mark along for the ride on an East Coast road trip to try the craziest concoctions claiming to be pizza... but are they really dough?

For those wondering, here are all 12 of Mark’s rules so far, including all variations, in order of their first appearance (rewatched every episode for this). Personal comments between /* */.

Most common rules seem to be numbers 6 (13 occurrences), 1 (13 occurrences), and 2 (10 occurrences).
